INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Studio One Dramatic Arts! We are a new and exciting Theatre and Performance School in Scotland. We offer top quality classes in Acting and Musical Theatre as well as performance opportunities and masterclasses. These policies have been compiled to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, our Academy and to ensure the highest quality teaching of the arts.

1 Fees

1.1 To ensure a secure place is kept for your child at Studio One Dramatic Arts, Class fees should be paid in advance for the upcoming block. Please note, some blocks may vary in length and will be in line with South Lanarkshire/Glasgow school term times as much as possible.

1.2 Fees will be reviewed on an annual basis.

1.3 Studio One Dramatic Arts reserves the right to make amendments to the amounts and/or payment dates if deemed necessary. In this event, you will be given notice via email.

1.4 The system we are using for payment is CLASS4KIDS. 

1.5 Failure to make payment on time may result in your child losing their place. If you are finding it difficult to make payment on time, please contact sam@studio1drama.org were we will do our best to help.

1.6 Block fees are inclusive of vat.

  

2 Cancellation

2.1 Studio One Dramatic Arts reserve the right to change a class day/time should the class the numbers fall below an appropriate amount.

2.2 Classes will be booked monthly (in advance) therefore any missed the classes will still be payable.

2.3 If your child no longer wishes to attend classes please let us know in writing at sam@studio1drama.org

2.4 In the event of a class cancellation due to reasons out with our control, fees will be non-returnable.

2.5 If there is a cancelled class that is within our control, this will be reflected in our fees.

3 Class etiquette

3.1 Class participants will be expected to Respect their peers and staff members at al times.

3.2 Studio One Dramatic Arts encourages kindness to all and any behaviours or incidents that do not follow these guidelines will be investigated and dealt with appropriately.

3.3 Teachers/Tutors will set good examples for our students and this will fall in line with our positive Ethos.

3.4 Abusive behaviour from children or grown ups will not be tolerated, we encourage kindness and respect at all times.

3.5 If a student consistently displays negative behaviours towards peers or staff then this may result in them losing their place at the academy.

4 Classes and Performances

4.1 Promotional footage will be occurring throughout the year during classes and performances. A media disclaimer will be required for this to happen. If you do not wish your child to take part in this please make us aware of this at your earliest convenience.

4.2 If a student is continuously struggling to adhere to the policies (section 3 class etiquette), a verbal warning will be issued, if persistent, this will be followed by a discussion with parent/carer.

4.3 We take child safe guarding very seriously, therefore under no circumstances will a child be permitted to leave our premises without a guardian present, unless this has been previously communicated with staff members.

4.4 it is the responsibility of the guardian to ensure the signing in and signing out of the student on entry and exit of the building.

4.5 Minor accidents and injuries can occur in such active classes, care will be given by our first trained staff member where possible and guardian will be notified on pick up. If the injury is more serious guardian will be contacted promptly. Incidents and injuries will be noted in the accident book. Staff will try their best to ensure any risk of incidents are kept to a minimum, however staff cannot be held responsible should any injuries occur during class time.

4.6Please ensure children are dropped off and signed in for class for their allocated start time. Children must be collected and signed out at the correct class finish time. If there is a delay in collecting your child, you must inform a staff member as soon as possible.

 

5 GENERAL

5.1 Studio One Dramatic Arts communicate through email and social media platforms, specifically facebook and instagram. Please follow our social media for the most up to date information. Also ensure you check all folders in your email to avoid missed communication.

5.2 Safe practise is a must at Studio One Dramatic Arts. Occasionally it may be necessary for a staff member to make physical contact with a student while playing games, directing a scene or correcting technique.

5.3 It is vital that we are made aware of any medical conditions during registration process, this is the responsibility of the guardian to update us as and when required. For your child’s safety it is imperative that we are made aware of any health issues your child may have.

5.4 If a child is unwell please do not send them to class to avoid cross contamination and spread of infection. We will continue to follow current government guidelines regarding coronavirus and any other highly contagious illnesses. This will ensure safety for children and staff members.

 

6 GDPR

6.1 Information that is given to us will be stored on our company laptop. This will have strong passwords and is not accessible to anyone out with the company.

6.2 any promotional footage from sessions will be taken on a device belonging to Studio One only and will be password protected.

6.3 Our company laptop is set to lock screen and require fresh login if not is use.

6.4 Screens will be positioned where they cannot be easily overlooked.

6.5 Devices belonging to Studio One Dramatic Arts will not be left unattended or accessed out with the company.

6.6 We will hold the minimum amount of information needed to run our services successfully.

6.7 We will ensure that any staff or volunteers only have access to the information they need to so their job.
